Victoria Chamberlin is from New York state and began her career as a professional oboist. After earning a master of music degree in performance, it only took one year of freelancing to realize she wanted a change. Chamberlin began working for the National Association for Music Education on a team dedicated to making the arts a core subject within the American education system. After 6 years with NAfME, Chamberlin answered a lingering call to serve. She resigned her position, sold her home, and enlisted into the United States Army. She spent her 29th birthday in basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. With a tour in South Korea and Germany, Chamberlin moved to Washington, DC where she is now on active duty with the Army and finishing a masters degree in Journalism from Georgetown University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and fat cat.
